I've been in the US, and also on holiday, so my replies have been non-existant. I'll be replying as normal in about a week and a half. To business - Some of you have been suffering core dumps when changing databases. It's been a bit of a pain, and it is a problem that I neglected to test for. Firstly, try downloading leap-0.11.tar.gz off of the ftp sites. I *think* that fixes the problem, but cannot be sure until I check the source code when I get home. Secondly, try applying the following diff to tuples.c 53c53 < if (ntuple!=NULL) { --- > if (ntuple!=NULL && (*ntuple) != NULL) { (Thanks to Scott Gibson for that!) Wishing you all a prosperous and enjoyable 1997! Regards, Richard. >From leap-owner Mon Jan 20 19:20:16 1997 Received: by brookes.ac.uk (8.8.4/SMI-SVR4) id TAA21069; Mon, 20 Jan 1997 19:17:58 GMT From: richard_leyton@mail.amsinc.com Date: Mon, 20 Jan 97 19:27:55 EST Encoding: 92 Text Message-Id: <9700208537.AA853798644@mail.amsinc.com> To: leap@brookes.ac.uk Subject: leap list: Survey Sender: owner-leap@brookes.ac.uk Precedence: bulk Reply-To: leap@brookes.ac.uk Dear all, Since this mailing list was set up, the number of subscribers has increased somewhat. Many of you have contacted me directly regarding some aspect of LEAP, and I hope I've been able to answer your questions. I'd now like to ask a favour of yourselves. I'd like to hear from you regarding several questions and issues (See below). I'd really appreciate it if you could take the time to reply so I am better informed of how LEAP is being used, and how I might develop it in the future (if at all). Please feel free to write as much or as little as you like. If you use LEAP in an educational establishment, and others make use of it, please pass on the question list. If you use it in a class, I'd love to hear from the students as well. Send it by e-mail to rleyton@acm.org, or you can fax it to me in Germany +49 211 53 55 155 - But please mark it clearly on the top sheet for my attention. In case you receive this through a forwarded e-mail, it was originally sent to the LEAP mailing list, which anyone can join by sending a one line e-mail to "majordomo@brookes.ac.uk", with a line in the body of the message reading "subscribe leap". Thanks in advance, Richard Leyton. Start of LEAP Survey -------------------- Name: E-mail address: Postal address: What do you use LEAP for? Do you intend to extend LEAP in any way? If so, how? What do you think of the documentation? How would you like to see LEAP develop in the future? Is there any specific pieces of functionality you feel is missing from LEAP? What platform(s)/Operating Systems do you use LEAP on? Is there a platform you'd like to see LEAP support? Did you compile LEAP yourself? If so, how did it go? Is there anything that could be added to make use or installation of LEAP easier? Any further comments. Send it directly to rleyton@acm.org or richard_leyton@mail.amsinc.com Oh, and if you do have problems with LEAP, please don't forget to include the version number, operating system and any other relevant information you can think of... Thanks again, Richard. ______________________________ Reply Separator _________________________________ Subject: leap list: Survey Author: leap@brookes.ac.uk at AMS-Internet Date: 20/01/97 19:27 Dear all, Since this mailing list was set up, the number of subscribers has increased somewhat.
