This is only true if you want to run LEAP straight away (The prebuilt databases are included in the .ZIP file), because some of the relation names require long filenames. However, if you only have access to PKZIP, uncompress LEAP as normal: pkunzip -d leap1_2.zip cd leap-1.2/src and run: leap --configure ..\scripts\install.src LEAP will then rebuild its database and create all files with long file names. Unix users - See the Makefile - this is the command that is run when a 'make install' is executed. The limit on a command is 127 characters - this is normally quite reasonable, unless you're creating large relations or typing in a particularly complex query. Generally, commands > 127 characters will return error #28 (Unrecognised token(s) in expression). To increase this limit to a more reasonable level, change the #define called 'MAXIMUM_INPUT_STRING' in include/consts.h from 127 to 1024. LEAP will also core dump if long command mode is enabled and commands are entered longer than MAXIMUM_INPUT_STRING. Replace line 276 in leap.c which reads: strcat(maincommand, buffer) with the following lines: if (strlen(maincommand)+strlen(buffer)From leap-owner Mon Jul 20 14:23:11 1998 Received: by brookes.ac.uk (8.8.7/) id OAA02317; Mon, 20 Jul 1998 14:21:51 +0100 (BST) From: 33j8WLZxn@1cloo1bge.com DATE: 20 Jul 98 7:12:13 AM Message-ID: <0xZ05qlc1eU14922zCp> Subject: leap list: Here to serve you Apparently-To: Sender: leap@brookes.ac.uk Precedence: bulk Reply-To: leap@brookes.ac.uk LET US DO YOUR BULK E-MAIL ADVERTISING!!! Or let the list show all the headers of poster, then I can forward it to spammers postmaster. Let me guess: spammer has an uunet account, because on june 21 I received the same spam, forwarded it, received this number: UU844579 And I have the impression that uunet is not doing much with complaints. >From leap-owner Fri Jul 24 02:26:29 1998 Received: by brookes.ac.uk (8.8.7/) id CAA18893; Fri, 24 Jul 1998 02:25:34 +0100 (BST) From: LPalitz@aol.com Message-ID: <25999f33.35b7e24c@aol.com> Date: Thu, 23 Jul 1998 21:24:26 EDT To: leap@brookes.ac.uk Mime-Version: 1.0 Subject: leap list: ADDRESS CHANGE PALITZ,LON FREDRIC Content-type: text/plain; charset=US-ASCII Content-transfer-encoding: 7bit X-Mailer: AOL 4.0 for Windows 95 sub 167 Sender: leap@brookes.ac.uk Precedence: bulk Reply-To: leap@brookes.ac.uk NEW ADRESS: e-mail:lonfranben@worldnet.att.net
